Sister James is alive and well!

HI guyzzz!!!

Well, where do I even begin?! I already mentioned this, but my companion's flight was delayed twice and so I was a "solo" missionary for the first couple of days. The first day was really tough for me and I had to really think about WHY I am here serving a mission. Austin's note to me reallly, really helped me. I want him to know that. I've already learned and grown so much in just one week.. I thought I knew what sincere prayer was, but now I really know. I'm learning sooo much about patience, humility, and love. I've learned to trust in the Lord, rather than myself and the importance of being truly converted unto him rather than just having a testimony. AH, it's incredible how much my heart has changed already! I can't wait to get out in the field and serve in California!! So my companion's name is Sister Davis. She's a sweet girl from Alabama.. her accent is the best. She laughs at every thing.. I love it. She broke her toe on my suit case (I feel really bad about it haha) So we've spent a lot of time in the health clinic, but we get to go to the temple today! Wahoo. My district could be the six most different people in the world, but we get along so well. Elder Leavitt is the biggest germophob and his favorite past time was watching one tree hill and gossp girl with his mom. His mom is his best friend hahaha Elder Yager is a cowboy from Kansas and is a football fanatic.. he played in college. Elder Gregory is (district leader) likes to talk and talk and talk, but he has the greatest insight. Elder Magoon.. he has aspbergers (can someone edit this.. I can't spell) Despite his disablity.. he is POWERFUL. When he bears his testimony.. it's incredible. I love that we are all so different because I learn from each of their examples every day. I'm learning so much about my testimony and my relationship with the Lord and especially.. to teach by the spirit. You can plan and prepare, but sometimes.. the lesson goes a completely different direction. Sometimes teaching can be intimidating, but I've felt that when I trust in the lord and don't stress every little thing.. I have the spirit with me. I'm learning to not worry about every little thing hahaa ah.. Oh I'm sister training leader in my zone and the we are getting four new sisters today. I'm really excited to meet them! anyway, the food is alright! Depends on the day ha! I love seeing people I know!! I've seen elder mattingly (cline) sister jeffs, Jenne dayton and sister peterson (tiffany, from my YSA ward). Oh and thanks for the packages, lettters, and emails. It means the world!!! Well, next time I email I will be in California. CRAZY. I know that he is there and he is aware of each of us. He loves us more than we will ever be able to comprehend. Every one, go on a mission. Even though it's been one week.. it has been the most life-changing, incredible experience. Sometimes when I glance down and see my name tag, I think, " OH MY GOSH. I'M A MISSIONARY. WHAT?!" haha I love being a missionary and I can't wait to grown even more. I love you all! Have an incredible week!!!
